Global Guideline · Workplace Violence Prevention and Response

Workplace violence is not simply a security issue; it is an organizational risk involving people, operations, culture, business continuity, and reputation. This guideline provides a practical framework for understanding that risk and developing an integrated approach to prevention and response. It addresses the different forms and sources of workplace violence, identifies conditions that increase exposure, and establishes practical measures for risk assessment, reporting, behavioral threat management, layered controls, training, emergency response, investigation, recovery, and continuous improvement. Its objective is to help organizations move beyond reacting to incidents and develop the capabilities necessary to recognize risk earlier, intervene appropriately, protect their people, and reduce both the human and organizational consequences of workplace violence.
